De cuturele uitingen gemaakt door de mens is de mens. Wat we eten, zien of horen zijn de gedachten, ideeen en wensen van mensen. Al het culturele tezamen, dat zijn wij. De mens is cultuur.

Met deze gedachten in ons achterhoofd maken wij onze tentoonstellingen. Wij zijn, in eerste instantie, niet bezig, om weer een fantastisch mooie tentoonstelling samen te stellen, maar veel eerder verslag te doen, een overzicht te geven van de verscheidenheid die er is en haar naast elkaar te tonen, niet per se in 1 tentoonstelling maar in alle tentoonstellingen bij elkaar. In plaats van zelf de tentoonstellingen samen te stellen, vragen wij iedere nieuwe show een andere culturele instantie om dat te doen. De wijdsheid die wij zo bestrijken is enorm. De vrijheid die zo tot stand komt, is indrukwekkend.

Wij stellen ons op cultureel vlak de nodige vragen en hebben daarover vele gedachten,toch zijn wij in eerste instantie een bedrijf. De culturele koers is nog steeds professionaliseren. Jonge kunstenaars kennen het ondertussen al niet eens meer anders. De musea worden bedrijven. De scholen worden bedrijven. 21% belasting wordt eventueel de nieuwe norm, niet geheel onbegrijpelijk in dit kader. De ‘culturele’ vrijheid verdwijnt zo onopgemerkt met iedere nieuwe generatie. Wij zwemmen tegen de stroom in. Als musea bedrijven worden dan maken wij exposities. Onze muren maar ook de vloeren en onze lucht, wij geven het graag aan onze vrijdenkers, want context is content.

Cult=us=Gallery Again is een bijzondere tentoonstelling in zin van dat wij eenmalig ieder jaar zelf een tentoonstelling maken. Een keer zijn wij zelf de culturele instelling die een tentoonstelling maakt. Als bedrijf maken wij nu deel uit van de culturele sector. Wij ervaren ons bedrijf als een kunstzinnige installatie.

De deelnemende kunstenaars, deze editie zijn Don Satijn, Inge Aanstoot, Nolan Smeets, Aswin… Ghislain… en Sethi Gueye.

The cultural expressions made by man is man. What we eat, see or hear are the thoughts, ideas and wishes of us. All cultural things together, is us. Man is culture, Cult=us.

With these thoughts in mind, we create our exhibitions. We are not, in the first place, busy putting together another beautiful exhibition, but giving an overview of the diversity that exists and showing it side by side, not necessarily in 1 exhibition but in all exhibitions together. Instead of putting together the exhibitions ourselves, we ask a different cultural institution to do so for each new show. The wide horizon that we cover this way is enormous. The freedom that is created this way is impressive.

We ask ourselves necessary questions on a cultural level and have many thoughts about it, yet we are primarily a company. The cultural direction is still professionalization. Young artists no longer know it any other way. Museums are becoming companies. Schools are becoming companies. 21% tax may become the new standard, not entirely incomprehensible in this context. The ‘cultural’ freedom disappears unnoticed with each new generation. Cult=us swims against the current. When museums become companies, we make exhibitions. Our walls, floors and our air, we gladly offer it to our freethinkers. Context is content.

Cult=us=Gallery again is a special exhibition in the sense that we make an exhibition ourselves once every year. For once we are a cultural institution that makes an exhibition. As a company we are now part of the cultural sector. We experience our company as an artistic installation.

The participating artists, this edition, are Don Satijn, Inge Aanstoot, Nolan Smeets, Rowan Van As, Ghislain Amar and Sethi Gueye. The artists represent a wide palette, but together as a whole we create a beautiful melody that moves through Cult=us.
